Job Numbers

By default, job numbers need to be entered manually (ideal if you have a 3rd party system for generating jobs and you want to copy/paste them into Task Rocket).

If you’d prefer to have job numbers created automatically, you can enable the Automatic job numbers option in Task Rocket Settings -> Other.

Additionally you can specify a job number prefix, which is only used when the Automatic job numbers option is enabled.

Automatic job number format

When using the Automatic job numbers option, job numbers are formatted in the following ways:

Tasks: PREFIX-YMD-TYPETASKID
Your specified prefix, the current year month and day, the job type (T for task in this case) and the task ID (generated when you create a task)

Projects: PREFIX-YMD-TYPEPROJECTID
Your specified prefix, the current year month and day, the job type (P for project in this case) and the project ID (generated when you create a project)
