Deregistering a domain

Deregistering a plugin from a domain removes the associated license key, freeing up the plugin so that is can be activated on a different domain (or even again on the same domain if required).

This action basically removes evidence of the registered domain from the license server, making it believe the product hasn’t been activated yet.

This process can be useful in several scenarios

  • You’ve decided to move the plugin to a new domain.
  • You’ve rebuilt your website with a new database and need to reactivate the plugin.
  • You’re transferring ownership of the website to someone else and don’t want to give them your plugin.
  • You originally activated your plugin in a staging or development environment, and now need to activate it on a production server.

How to deregister a domain

  • Navigate to the Activated Domains page.
  • Find the domain associated with the plugin you want to deregister.
  • Click the circular deregister icon in the far-right column.
  • Confirm your choice when prompted.
  • Wait for a confirmation message indicating the process was successful.

The process should only take a few seconds. Once complete, you can activate the plugin again on a new domain, or even again on the same domain if required.

Note: Deregistering a domain does not affect the status or tenure of your license.
